Holding a conference on threats and cyber attacks in industrial control systems and SCADA

Considering the growing trend of cyber attacks on industrial control systems and SCADA in recent years and months, we decided to hold a conference in line with our mission in the field of raising awareness and improving the level of security knowledge in the province, where we can share information and tips. to present for the training of people working in this field.

Yesterday, on November 17, 1400, a conference on cyber threats and attacks in industrial control systems and SCADA was held in the hall of the Western Regional Electric Company with the presence of the managers of the executive bodies of the province. This conference, on the occasion of passive defense week, is held both online for the interested public and in person for managers and senior managers of executive bodies of the province, with the aim of improving the level of knowledge and awareness in the field of cyber threats and attacks in industrial control systems and SCADA. It was held in cooperation with the General Administration of Communications and Information Technology of the province and the Western Regional Electricity Company.

The topics of this conference included the following:

  • Basic concepts of cyber security and technology development trends
  • An introduction to the security of control systems and industrial automation in industries from the point of view of statistics
  • Classification of some common attacks in SCADA and industrial control systems
  • Introducing some attacks and related industrial control system events
  • Examples of security threats in the country's industrial control, SCADA and dispatching systems
  • Examples of information disclosure cases and related challenges in the country's industries

In this conference, the challenges and threats of this field were discussed as well as the attacks and techniques used by the attackers. Since facing a cyber attack on critical devices is not far-fetched these days, we must train organizational forces to prepare for such incidents. The purpose of these conferences and trainings is to prevent the occurrence of the incident in the first place, and in the next stages to deal with and solve the problem in crisis conditions.
